Mass Change Sensors. In thermal analysis apparatus. mass change sensors can be optical or magnetic in design and sense the movement of the balance arm and the out-of-balance signal made to apply a proportional force to return the balance arm to its original position. The magnitude of the correcting signal is employed to define the mass change.
